Role purpose
This is a genuinely unique opportunity to develop and deliver a corporate social investment strategy and programme through a range of complex education, health, well-being and sustainability initiatives including employee voluntary, public safety, environmental, cultural and socio-economic impacts and benefits.
The Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Manager will be based in the head office in Kinshasa within a company committed to responsible and sustainable business practices, forging close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders with a focus on developing a long term positive legacy in the communities where we operates.
This role suits to a proven and impactful CSI Manager who can bring an impressive track record of adding significant value within similar high profile roles. The CSI manager will be the person shaping and establishing the formal arrangements for target setting, Governance, reporting and communication of Vodacom Congo’s long term approach to corporate social responsibility business practice.
Missions will involve:
Working closely with the Executive Head of Corporate Affairs in leading the company’s social investment strategy and implement its CSI objectives.
Working in partnership with community groups
Co-ordinating volunteer activities and events, drumming up support and persuading employee participation
Presenting to CSR stakeholders, selling the business case of a CSR programme
Negotiating and overseeing sponsorship deals and other educational, health, livelihood or environmental partnerships
Organising educational workshops to coach CSR champions across the business
Promoting activities undertaken, both to the media and to other stakeholders
Setting up forums where employees can share ideas
Measuring the uptake and outcomes of CSR campaigns
Looking at investments making sure they are socially and ethically responsible.
Provide and manage an effective and professional communication, media and public relations. Developing communication with all key stakeholders
Assist in any other business requirement form his/her line manager.
Key responsibilities:
·        Development: Work with external agency/NGO to develop and maintain detailed proposals for Corporate Social Investment strategy
·        Delivery: Manage and co-ordinate the delivery of the programme, including target setting, governance, audit and reporting
·        Work with the communications team to ensure effective internal and external communications of CSR activity, including stakeholder engagement in shaping the strategy
·        Influence senior management and key departments to secure ongoing commitment to the approach
·        Direct line management of 2 individuals (an Sustainability Specialist and one in remote management)
·        Write newsletters, management speech, briefings, campaign material and press releases on CSI;
·        Write and edit in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and monthly and annual reports;
·        Contribute to the production of corporate brochures, handouts, social media, web site, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes;
·        Source and manage speaking and sponsorship opportunities;
·        Commission relevant study and research;
·        Foster stakeholders relations through events such as open days and through involvement in stakeholders initiatives;
·        Manage and update information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
Technical qualifications:
·        A track record of success and achievement demonstrated within relevant CSR roles at a senior level. If not the owner of CSR strategy, you must be able to evidence significant input into the strategy and responsibility for the delivery of a comprehensive CSR programme.
·        Degree calibre or equivalent.
·        Strong delivery focus with proven experience of managing complex projects successfully in a busy business environment.
·        Clear capability to drive this role forward and add significant value to a new role.
·        People management (2 direct report expected). Remote management experience would be highly desirable.
·        Influential and engaging while inspiring others by developing credible strategies, and demonstrating high levels of personal impact and credibility.
·        Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
·        Diplomatic, being able to see what is important to different parties and to challenge in a positive manner.
·        Demonstrates learning agility, strong thinking and analytical skills. Ability to get up to speed with new processes/procedures and able to adapt readily to change.

·        Project Cycle Management
Professional qualifications:
·        Minimum of 5 years of programme management, public relations, external communication and /or public policy development experience
·        Management experience
·        Proven fluency in English
